Day 18

Every day that I successfully do this thing I wonder why it took so long to start, I am finding it pretty easy to stay on track so far and I actually feel guilty for not riding the bike because of the sore throat, which is feeling a bit better this morning. So I will likely give the bike a ride tonight. my son had a 90 min delay to school because of some more snow and he is asking more questions about the change in the way things are getting done around here as far as diet and exercise goes. I am lacking on the drinking water a bit, I think I am still getting enough just not as much as I would like, and I think adding the green tea is contributing to that. thats a lot of liquids!

Also I believe I am going to start meditating again, there was a point in my life that I was into meditation, which was coincidentally during the same time that I was a vegetarian and what I consider the healthiest time in my life. (had a girlfriend that was a veg so I became one blah blah blah) lol. but I did find that meditating was helpful to stay grounded, it also has a calming effect. and with that I give you the menu for the day.

You are singing my tune when you mention meditation. I think that is a wonderful idea. And how awesome, you have prior success w/ it. I think it gives us the quiet time we all so deserve. Time to zone, or to reflect, or to "just be".
I put up a link on my blog that deals w/ calorie restrictions- an interesting read, and some yummy recipes. I am finding we all have traits of O.C.. lol I like your way of describing it as a hobby. makes it sound better. I also think that to be successful we have to be a bit over the top with it being a priority.
    Keep on keepin on!

  2. Yes, I too have become "obsessed," according to a freind of mine who I think is sick and tired of hearing about all of this. That's why I'm saving it all up for you guys! I definitely don't want to drive my friends crazy with talking about it all the time, but at the same time, I think that being a bit obsessed about it can do no harm! Surely it can only help my effort. Anyway, I am glad that you guys are just as interested in this as me. It's great to know that I'm not the only one.:)
    Tony,
I like that Excel worksheet you've made up! Wonder if you could email me that or something? I could use something like that, but I'm not sure how to get it set up (I guess I forgot how after that computer class in college....I didn't retain too much information for some reason...).
Glad you're feeling better. Have a great day!

  3. Robyn,
Ask and thou shall receive, check your email, its sent. obsession can be a good thing at times ;)

    Sandy,
I have not meditated in quite a while, kind hard to get time alone with 2 kiddos and a wife, but I have decided to add it to my daily "things to do" list because I remember how good it worked back when I was doing it.

Thanks for the comments guys they are much appreciated.

  4. I got the Excel sheet! Thank you! Now, to figure out how to use it.....
well, I may be emailing you back and asking you some questions about how in the world to do it. Makes me feel kinda dumb, but I feel pretty clueless when it comes to things like that for some reason. ;)

  6. okay, thanks! I'll probably start tyring to use it on Tuesday. Every scrap of paper in my house is full of scribbles of addition, multiplication, and division problems. I'm starting to feel pretty unorganized about keeping up with a day's calories. That will help, for sure!
