I am currently heavier then I want to be and it dawned on me, hey! I wrote a blog, how about you go back and read some of it! so I have and thought I'd pop up a quick post and see if anyone was still paying attention. Truth is that these posts were always for me and the fact that some of you fine people jumped aboard and cheered me on was a bonus that I didn't think would happen in the caliber that it did and I thank you all for that! but back to me, When I was writing in this blog on a daily basis it gave me a direction to follow, an accountability factor that I almost had to adhere to else I would feel the wrath of the internet in messages and comments.<br />
<br />
The long short of it if that's even how you say it is that I am heavier than I want to be and I decided to do something about it again, 11 years ago a Dad decided enough was enough and I dropped more than 200 pounds on my own... Scratch that because it wasn't on my own, it was with the help of a community that grew from a blog started by a fat dude along with a shit ton of hard work and the shit ton of work is on my shoulders but this blog did in fact help me lose the weight back then and Maybe I need to include it in my 2019 run for the title and see where that gets me.<br />
<br />
With all of that said, keep an eye out for your favorite fat dude who got a taste of the healthy life looking to make a come back. I'm not going to start off with how much weight I put back on, its not as high as when I started in 08, just know that its significant enough that it will take work again and I need to put in that work, so it begins again.<br />
<br />
As Ever<br />

Sometimes we lose sight of things and others its like we snatch it up by it's throat and handle it immediately, then other times circumstances dictate where the boat goes and it gets me thinking...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am who I am, and I know I stole that from Popeye but its the truth so I'll use it, but my point is that no matter the circumstances I am who I am. The environment can change and at times environments can change us but at out core we remain. I am the same guy who dropped 229 pounds like it was my job but I have gained a significant amount of that back, and lost it again then gained it back... again, and this cycle is ridiculously unfortunate and infuriating all at the same time. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm capable of eating within my calories, I am capable of exercising (perhaps not up the point that I want to but I can) yet I find myself doing the opposite more times than not lately and well yeah.. I told my wife "<i>After the 1st its on like Donkey Kong baby, I'm losing it again</i>" now I find myself eating less but not counting like I should and I am definitely not exercising as I should be but why?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I compare weight loss/healthy living to a train rolling down the tracks and if you look above you'll see the banner reflects that as its been there almost since conception of this blog. A train takes a lot to get it rolling, chugging along sputtering and spitting making lots of noise, bellowing smoke and dragging the immense weight of itself down the tracks. Slowly but surely it gains momentum, picking up speed and it gets easier for the train to keep rolling until its up to speed and chugging along almost effortlessly, efficiently and I dare you to stop it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The thing about trains is that if it does derail its typically disastrous, freight all over the place, rail cars smashed and crashed and all of the momentum is lost. Talking about derailed, I started off with Popeye.. So, my point is that I am the guy that lost all that weight, I am that guy who sputtered and chugged along the tracks and I did it, I was as healthy as I have ever been in my life and well, you guessed it, derailed but I'm thinking that just because I was derailed doesn't mean that I am done for yet I think I've been looking at it that way because of all of the I will use pain for a summery kind of word as to a big part of my lack of momentum again. but I think its time, time to say to hell with it and get back on that horse because the alternative hasn't been so fun. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At my core I am that guy, the one who loves his bikes, the guy who can hike all day and be happy about it, the very same guy who teamed up on his friend reprimanding him for eating "cloned beef" thats me and I'm tired of wearing this other guy suit and ignoring who I am at my core....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lets get this train rolling again. </div>

Another day of counting down and today I weighed in so I will be reporting y losses here again as well. Lets get to the menu. </div>
<br />
<b>Breakfast</b><br />
2 servings pops cereal 240<br />8 oz 1% milk 110<br /> <br />1 Banana 110<br />1 T peanut butter 100<br /> <br />2 Dannon light Greek yogurt 160<br /> <br />
<b>Lunch (if you want to call it that)</b> <br />3oz chicken breast 150<br /> <br />2 Dannon light Greek yogurt 160<br /> <br />baked lays 120<br /> <br />
<b>Dinner</b><br />Bubba veggie burgers x 2 240<br />2 light hamburger rolls 160<br />2 slices American cheese 110<br />1oz baked chips 140<br /> <br />2 Dannon light Greek yogurts 160<br />
<br />
<b>Total 1960 calories </b>for the day.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Not bad even though I went over again, I am losing weight so I am not worried about going over the 1800 calories just yet, if I start slowing down on the losses I will tighten up the ship and get strict. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As for the weight loss this week? another <b>4 pounds down</b> from last week and if this trend keeps going I will lose faster than my goal date can get here and I'm just fine with that. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thats all I got.</div>

Another menu, another day and another pound lost (I hope) Yesterday was a bit of a struggle for some reason, I felt hungry at the end of the night but made it. I did go over by 160 calories partially because I grabbed a Greek yogurt from the fridge and didn't realize it was not a light yogurt until I took a bite and I didn't want to waste it so it is what it is. </div>
<br />
<b>Breakfast</b><br />
2 slices light rye bread 100<br />.5 oz cheese 55<br />4oz ham 130<br /> <br />2 light Italian bread 80<br />2oz turkey pepperoni 140<br />1oz American cheese 110<br /> <br /><b>Lunch </b> <br />2 servings pops cereal 240<br />8 oz 1% milk 110<br /> <br />2 Dannon light Greek yogurt 160<br /> <br />
<b>Dinner</b><br />2 La Tortilla factory wraps 200<br />2oz Light cheddar 90<br />1/4 cup black beans 55<br />onion/salsa 40<br />3 oz ground turkey 120<br />2 T light sour cream 40<br />1/4 cup white rice 50<br /><br />Oikos Greek yogurt 150<br /> <br />4 Brazil nuts 90<br />
<br />
<b>Total calories 1960</b><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Still trucking along and I am hoping (there's that word again) that I see a loss on the scale come Friday, either way, I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing and see where the wheel ends up. </div>

Another day, another post with my calories, its funny actually that this is sort of how I started off writing this blog back at the beginning of 2008, by posting my calories and menu then some random words about said things and here we are again. I do not believe in "<i>Breakfast food</i>" and "<i>Dinner food</i>" etc so you'll see I had a ham and cheese on rye for breakfast, calories in fitting into my allowances is what its about.<br />
<br />
<b>Breakfast</b><br />
2 slices light rye bread 100<br />.5 oz cheese 55<br />4oz ham 130<br /> <br />2 Dannon light Greek yogurt 160<br /><br />
<b>Lunch</b> <br />2 servings pops cereal 240<br />8 oz 1% milk 110<br /> <br />
1 Banana 110<br />1 T peanut butter 100<br /><br />
<b>Dinner</b> <br />1 C white rice 200<br />8oz turky keilbasi 360<br /> <br />2 Dannon light Greek yogurt 160<br /> <br />4 Brazil nuts 90<br />
<br />
<b>Total 1815</b><br />
<br />
In addition to the calories I drink 1 gallon of green tea per day and a minimum of another half gallon of straight H2O which is more times than not another gallon of water so I won't post my fluid intakes unless it was low for a particular day, Simple right? it is what it is and I have a goal to reach by August 1st, its on.<br />

I decided to log into the blog after someone that I have known since childhood said to me "<i>I read your blog and I'm waiting for an update</i>" I had no idea that people I knew actually read this blog because I tried to keep it as out of that loop as possible but here goes, an update. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When I say there is a lot going on in my personal life I am understating, which honestly sounds like an excuse to me but as I have stated before I am indeed a stress/emotional eater which I'm working on but for now it wins that fight more times than not and I find myself lit from the front by a refrigerator light at times. My success with dropping weight paired with this whole regain bullshit that I've allowed myself to slide back into just because focusing on me is rougher these days has got to stop and I've "<i>restarted</i>" so many times in the last 2 years that I could be the poster boy for yo yo dieting at this point. There are days when I'm all like "<i>Bring it on, I am the god of hellfire and everything health bows to me bitches!</i> <i>I got this</i>" Then there are times that I feel more like Eore from Winnie the pooh and it goes to shit, I suppose I'm not alone in that kind of thing but damn its gotta let up sometimes... or. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The day that this person I've known forever stated that she reads my blog I met a friend of hers and I didn't say anything at the time but this friend of hers forced me to think about this whole walk down the yellow brick road to health I've been on in a different way, the way I use to see it. Talking to this person reminded me that the attitude in which you approach a situation is possibly more important than than the process itself in a way. Though we only spoke briefly, I learned that she had lost 90 pounds and was a kettlebell instructor, her attitude and positive outlook stuck with me more than she probably realized in that moment. Over the last week I have been reflecting on a lot of things and decided that its time to take my body and health back from the negativity that currently holds the keys with an attitude change. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Life is too short and we never know what cards we will be dealt at any given moment, sometimes we get pocket aces, win the huge pot then happily ever after and other times we lose the farm, the key is that whatever we are handed that we stay the course. A blip on the radar in the grand scheme, a short conversation with a person who I know not much about other than she was really positive and dealt with some weight loss/health tuning of her own forced a week of reflecting on my part and here I am, with an update.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My excel sheet was dusted off and the salter scale is on the counter, I am heading out to the grocery store for some fresh stuff to eat after I click publish, Its time to find that guy who use to be as positive as that girl in the red dress again.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thats all I got for today. </div>

In life, sometimes we are not sure where to start, many times it seems so daunting that we fail before we start, other times we dwell on what use to be but it will always remain the same no matter at what junction we stand.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjziBw8ieTgJfueIGr9H5_cboBCNgrFQNsGsOLoi5pJqWM6TIXJHlV9VD8MA1ZpE9shgBA2QgJP_RiH0eKOnKk-JKR_qetdgXlLtaffFw8x23MVlNvdzA6qMphnnOO-sW7n7u3YomNLfsB/s1600/pin.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjziBw8ieTgJfueIGr9H5_cboBCNgrFQNsGsOLoi5pJqWM6TIXJHlV9VD8MA1ZpE9shgBA2QgJP_RiH0eKOnKk-JKR_qetdgXlLtaffFw8x23MVlNvdzA6qMphnnOO-sW7n7u3YomNLfsB/s1600/pin.png" height="320" width="226" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
You must start from the point at which you currently stand, not because its the best idea, not because someone else said so and not because the mood strikes you on any particular day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But because it is where you stand and there is no other starting point.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What's holding <b>YOU</b> back?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now to take my own advice.....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

So, the poison ivy is clearing up and opening day for trout has passed as did the big Easter dinner I made, things are looking up. This blog has given me a place to drop my thoughts when I feel the need to, it had given me a couple friends I would have not had otherwise and I have not posted as much as I might have shouldda in past months but here we go. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ_i2xsle-VTnrZzU6y1K4b6DVOk6_jcGJDigguKB4b5WGxASM_UQUuFvQ3NeNoYPqqEUWSO6VF6_kmG6ruTi0PEoKoWnZ8wWUr26gzQ5xuiQT6pGLiK2bCxYBGrun7D1Z3rAzMsnApnVu/s1600/Sunset.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ_i2xsle-VTnrZzU6y1K4b6DVOk6_jcGJDigguKB4b5WGxASM_UQUuFvQ3NeNoYPqqEUWSO6VF6_kmG6ruTi0PEoKoWnZ8wWUr26gzQ5xuiQT6pGLiK2bCxYBGrun7D1Z3rAzMsnApnVu/s1600/Sunset.jpg" height="238" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>This is how my day ended on opening day 2014, just amazing. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Opening day fishing was a disaster and only saved by the company that I had and one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever had the joy of laying eyes on to end my day, so in short it was a beautiful disaster. My daughter and I set out to fill the freezer with trout and at the end of the day all said and done we had a single 15 inch rainbow trout to show for our efforts and I owed her a buck for catching the first and what turned out to be the only fish of the day. Something that also made the day not so awesome was the fact that I broke the end off of one of my poles by rolling the window up on it... twice... so now my 7 foot pole is a tad shorter. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMVT1Utk8S3zM5NI_fbtpNz8teb9cP-kVJQPwCLddS-xdhK15PNFjOUaV6CK-4i4aSlvu9W8eXvc_n9tUopQHzgn8sCcJm4FRCb5CMF1_uePjGQD5AMZttjU9qrZkyC2PcxAe0sgRWiPFG/s1600/reel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMVT1Utk8S3zM5NI_fbtpNz8teb9cP-kVJQPwCLddS-xdhK15PNFjOUaV6CK-4i4aSlvu9W8eXvc_n9tUopQHzgn8sCcJm4FRCb5CMF1_uePjGQD5AMZttjU9qrZkyC2PcxAe0sgRWiPFG/s1600/reel.jpg" height="191" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was a snack eating kind of day as I didn't have a solid meal all day Saturday besides breakfast but I was not minding calories at all so it made not much difference either way. Sunday on the other hand was a different story all together and the feast that I made for my family was pretty amazing... calorie filled for sure, but amazing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had been doing well with my calories until about a week ago then I slacked, Today is a new day and I am not going to dwell on the fact that I have not eaten the best in the past week or so, it is what it is and its time to move on. I have to realize that I can do what I can do and worrying about things out of my control is not helping the ahem.. situation with my ass so I am trying to limit worrying but we all know how that goes. Over all I am feeling more positive about my weight situation but admittedly I do struggle a lot with dealing with the weight that I have regained and the mental that goes along with having succeeded in dropping what I did and turning myself around and now being in a 2 steps forward 3 steps back place in this journey. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once upon a time there was a fat guy that was not able to live the life that I am living right now, once upon a time I was living a life doing things that I cannot do at this moment and living in the now of life has got to become the way of me. The first time around I was a guy never having known how it felt to be healthy, this time around I know how it feels to be healthy and able to do what I please when I please and I am still unsure which is worse but in THIS moment, its worse having known and I'll use that to drive me forward into te life that I am trying to take back. </div>

How does a person who lost 230 pounds, became the man that he knew he was and completely turned his physical around gain more than 100 pounds back get into a groove that will again allow him to drop back into Superman status? This is my quandary. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I ask myself constantly how did I do it? how did I drop 230 pounds the first go around? most importantly how can I do it again? I walk, I eat decent (I'll admit I am not doing my part 100% where eating goes) but it seems that lately no matter what I do, no matter how hard I work the weight does not come off. I was doing yard work Tuesday and felt awesome because well, my yard looks amazing in the spring and I was getting what I have always considered "free exercise" by doing the work. fast forward to last night and I am itchy... My nemesis has returned, yep Poison Ivy, I must have missed that I pulled some roots up that were hairy and bamn! my fragile skin which cries at night thinking about poison ivy came in contact and this morning I look like I went 12 rounds with the young Mike Tyson. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I decide that going to my doc is the better option considering that the hospital is where I typically end up when meeting Poison Ivy in dark alleys if not a quick run to the mob doc for some medical help. I walk in, get weighed, blood pressure etc etc everything that happens with a visit to the doc and the nurse says "He will be right in" so I wait. The Doc walks in, says hello "<i>been a while</i>" yep sure has, "<i>looks like ya got some poison ivy there huh?</i>" yep sure do, "<i>what are we going to do about that weight Tony?</i>" I laughed because I had just told my wife who dropped me off that he would ask me. I said "lets get this taken care of and then we can talk" to which he replies, "<i>yeah, you're getting a shot and a script like every time, now your weight</i>" and I think to myself "<i>awesome</i>" ...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After a short talk describing how I can;t seem to drop weight any more he wanted to do some blood work for my thyroid and I am reminded that My father takes meds for Thyroid, my grandmother had problems with hers as did my aunt... hmmmmm why didn't I think of that? because it seemed like an excuse when I DID think about it. I have an appointment in a month to talk about whatever the blood tests say and I somehow feel good that I am doing something proactive about this problem that I have. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My blood pressure was ok, heart rate ok, everything seemed ok besides the statement where the doc said "<i>you're 73 pounds more than the last time I saw you</i>" ..... ouch. I got a shot for the ivy, got some prednisone and a cream for the itching so hopefully this "boxers look" that I have right now leaves me sooner than later and I feel hopeful where my weight loss is concerned again as its been a while since that was the case. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Maybe getting poison ivy was a blessing in disguise, I don't know but I do know that that hopeful feeling is deadening the itching a bit, so I'll take it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thats all I got.</div>

My mind says forward all engines captain yet my body refuses to comply with the order, whats a guy to do. Being negative is not how I dropped 230 pounds and is a huge part of why I have not posted lately, hows that saying go? if ya ain't got nothing nice to say? something like that. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Things OUT of my control dictate the gray matter and this is not how it should be but how does one separate the things that cause stress and the things that need to be done while making them work together if not in harmony just simply get out of one anothers way? If I knew we would be in a different place. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

With spring finally arriving in New England I realize that my hoodie is no longer a hiding place for the extra large version of myself any more and like a ton of bricks I am pissed, upset and feeling let down by myself all together. Yes its easy to say "start now" but alas here in lies my problem, I start at least 3 times per week because stress fucks with my noggin in ways that I wish it did not and like I said what to do when you are putting fires out constantly or dealing with complete frustration from more than one direction? I wish I knew. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The old me... which was the new me.. who has now become the guy I use to be is so close in memory that being this guy that I am now seems foreign yet at the same time he is who is here at the moment. Now that I have thoroughly confused you, basically I am pissed and its time to do something about it because the guy that was doing 25 mile rides on his bike hasn't been around for a while, that guy who hiked all week, I haven't seen him in a bit and I miss him so looking for him is going to be a priority for me now. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Less than inspiring? down? blah? perhaps thats how this post will be interpreted by anyone who takes the time to read it, maybe it will be seen as a guy whose had enough and is attempting to change a situation again in hopes that it sticks, I'm unsure as its literally just thoughts written as they came. This blog helped me drop 230 pounds once, maybe it can help me drop what I've gained back, at any rate, its worth a try. </div>

Kicking and screaming if I must. <div style="text-align: justify;">
Baby steps.. that's what they say right? This oh woe is me shit doesn't look good on me so I've decided that I am going to try and pull that old me.. err or is it the new me? or maybe the new old me, well whatever it is hes coming back out in the front of the line. Its hard, I won't lie but when has it been easy? so if I drag myself an inch at a time eventually that will be a foot, then a mile then.... </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am tired of this shit, I am tired of being tired and I am aggravated with myself for allowing the back pedaling with my health and weight, in that order because with good health comes the weight loss. I was once a completely sedentary 500 pound man, I became an extremely active 300 pound super hero and I have slowly but surely inched my way back up to over 400 pounds and inactive. No fucking way am I going to let myself stay here, I deserve better and like I said, if I have to drag my ass an inch at a time so be it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There will be slips, there will be days that I don't feel the way I feel as I write this but working through those times is what I need to relearn to do because if I don't I let people down and not just myself. When I started this blog I was completely lost, it was an experiment as much as a desperate man forcing a change so that death was not peeking into his windows every night and this time around I have a little more experience and I have to apply that to my daily so that we're back where we need to be.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I decided that this would be my Day 1.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I am recommitting myself to myself.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I take back what I worked so hard to get and what I deserve to have. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This train is no longer idle, please step aside, I would hate to run over any innocent bystanders.. </div>

When we know what to do, when we are fully aware of how to do it, when most of the tools needed are available and still the focus is not there what is the solution to that riddle? This is the place that I am in currently, I just cannot stay focused on the task at hand for more than a few days at a time before I find myself standing in front of the fridge staring in as if its the ark of the covenant, which didn't work out too well for the Germans in the Indiana Jones movie. I think back to that day in 2007 when I decided that I would start writing in this very blog, when I decided that enough was enough and weighing so much was not fun and games and I wonder how I was so focused. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fear, I was driven by fear back then, I was also driven by the anonymity that came with a blossoming blogger writing a blog and not knowing if anyone was actually reading it, in other words, no pressure. This blog played a huge part in my success and I believe that whole heartedly, there just is no denying that being able to lay it all out there helped to drive me into success. We need to get there again, no matter how hard I try I just cannot seem to get that eagle eye focus that I had when I first started losing weight and getting healthier and it bothers me more than I let on to anyone in my personal life or here when I write on this blog. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Since I started writing this blog there are two people that were driving forces for me in this online world of weight loss blogging that have passed away. They struggled like I do with figuring out a way to stay focused and when I learned of their passing on each occasion I cried. Did I cry because someone that I had come to know had passed away struggling with weight issues? or was it because I was on a path not so different than theirs? maybe a combination of both? I don't know but it impacted me greatly. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This blog has served me well, I have met people that I call friends now, I have learned a lot about myself and fueling ones body and I have it here to look back on. I am going to try to get back in here posting more regularly again because that fear is creeping back in slowly and it sort of makes my ass look big so I need to get away from it again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyone that says "<i>just stop eating</i>" or looks at people that struggle with weight loss in a negative or demeaning way needs to reevaluate their out look on the subject because its not that simple, if it were we would all be walking around looking amazing and blogs like this wouldn't exist. Cut us fatties a break would ya? we're trying, even if it doesn't appear to be that way, we are and contrary to popular belief its not a party, this shit sucks. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it, I'm trying.. I suppose its all that can be expected of anyone. </div>

Its easy to look at a fat person and not consider why they may be that way because everyone knows that if you're fat you are completely lazy and most certainly love being that way. Hopefully you can hear the sarcasm in that leading sentence because having a problem with controlling weight is much more than being lazy, in fact I would bet that most fat people are not lazy at all. I can think of many reasons that a person might be looked at as different, Race, Gender a Handicap the list is not short and none of those are acceptable reasons to discriminate or belittle a person. Now it amazes me how that when a person is fat its somehow perfectly fine to belittle them for it and its something that I've spent my entire life on the receiving end of. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In high school when you graduate you get a nifty little year book, everyone signs them and wishes each other well on their journey after school ends and in the end of the book there is a spot for "<i>most popular" teachers pet"</i> etc etc. Well let me tell ya it was an amazing feeling to open up the year book and see that you made it into one of these little nominations and for what? Yep, you guessed it, "<i>Most Lazy</i>" well wasn't that nice of whoever decided to give the fat kid a jab on the way out. Typically these little tributes have a male and a female recipient and yep, you guessed it, the heavy girl from my graduating class had the honors of being most lazy for the female population of our school. To this day I am not sure who the wonderful person who decided that adding "<i>most lazy</i>"to that honorable list was an awesome idea but I'll tell you this, My year book hit the trash 5 minutes after I cracked it open because of that without a single signature inside, it was the perfect period to end the sentence that was my high school experience, just awesome, and that pun was indeed intended.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is socially acceptable to belittle a fat person for being fat and much of the time no matter how hard we work to get healthy it feels like shoveling shit against the tide because of the negativity coming at you constantly for simply being what you are working so hard to try not to be. <span style="color: red;"><i>Something that is sort of interesting about being a fat person is that you are so physically big but inside you feel so small</i></span>, You hear all of the fat jokes, nothing fits you correctly and you are twice as big as a lot of "<i>normal</i>" folks and yet feeling small and unnecessary is the norm much of the time and I'll bet that a lot of people don't even realize or just don't care how that feels. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Even when you've concurred the demons, walked through hell and back getting yourself healthier that can still not be enough to be viewed as "<i>normal</i>" in the eyes of some people. I have never shared this story with anyone, in fact I just shared it with my wife last night and its something that happened more than 2 years ago, I never shared mostly because I felt smaller and more insignificant than almost ever in my life in that moment. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you read or have read this blog you know there was a point in my life where I was at the gym for hours at a time daily, I felt unstoppable and for the first time in my life felt as if I fit in with all of the "<i>normal</i>" sized people in this world even though I was still not at my ideal weight. A sign went up at the desk of the gym (<i>which will remain unnamed</i>) that sign said "<i>Help Wanted</i>" it was for a front desk/clean machines etc position and by a sign I mean a 2 foot by 4 foot banner sign on a stand at the front desk. A week went by and the sign was still there, a former contestant from the show The biggest loser worked at this gym and I figured that someone else who had lost 230 pounds may be a welcome addition to the staff, especially since He and I were close to the same size at this point. A few more days go by and I thought about how amazing it would be to work at a gym since I had done so much for my health in the last few years. I decided to completely change how I would have done things as a fat guy (<i>which would be to convince myself no way in hell would they want me to work there</i> <i>and NOT apply for a position</i>) and as hard as it was for me, I applied for the job. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A short time goes by so I decide to ask at the desk (<i>the co manager of the gym</i>) if they had hired anyone, "<i>Nope, we're still hiring</i>" I asked to talk to the manager so that I can check if they had taken a look at the application yet. Manager comes out, asks how she can help me, I asked about the application and she makes a face like she is recalling something then replies, "<i>I remember seeing it, I'll have a look at it and let you know</i>". At this point I am thinking "<i>How does she know whose application to look at? she doesn't know my name</i>" So I asked if she needed my name, which she says "<i>oh yeah</i>" So I say "<i>Tony</i>" because I was flustered and she begins to walk away so I then say "<i>won't you need my last name?</i>" I tell her my last name and she walks away, never writing it down and rolling her eyes at me as if I was destroying her day by asking her if they had considered my app yet. A couple days go by and I see the same manager while I am there working out one afternoon so decide to walk to the desk and ask her if she had time to have a look at my application telling her I am excited for the opportunity, all she says is "<i>We've done our hiring already</i>", turned and walked away. <i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That entire thing went down in front of two or three staff members at the gym and a few gym members on both occasions so to say that I felt about an inch tall goes without saying because it was obvious that they had not "<i>done their hiring</i>" and I was being rejected without actually reading the app or interviewing me based on something other than what was written on my application. That hiring sign stayed there for more than 2 months after all of that happened and going to the gym never felt the same for me, especially watching as multiple people were hired throughout those months. Its hard to go into a place to workout, feel unstoppable and positive when you feel an inch tall because obviously no matter how much work went in, you're still looked at as completely different. Its too bad that the "<i>no way in hell would they want me to work there</i> <i>and NOT apply for a position" </i>as it turns out may have been a better option for me<i> </i>in the end because the whole experience sure did impact me</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I stopped going to that gym eventually because of that experience, I can recall things like this happening throughout my entire life where being made to feel tiny inside this larger than average body was the norm and I'll bet I am not the only person who can say that. Fat people are not lazy, fat people are not different than you, fat people are not unaware that they are fat so reminding us with cruelty or obvious discrimination because of our bodily stature is not something others should find necessary. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started writing this blog back in 2008 and it helped me to drop 230 pounds, I have gained some back (<i>roughly 100 of that 230</i>) I need to get back on course like many others that have issues with weight. Something that I ask anyone who may find themselves this far into this post is cut us fatties a break once in a while. We're trying, it sucks to be this over weight and we are full aware that we are large so there is no need to remind us with stares, whispers, giggles or pointing. We don't point and laugh at Drug addicts, Smokers, Alcoholics or anybody else struggling with things that we know nothing about and we expect the same courtesy. </div>

I have been walking my ass off quite literally! Its Friday so its time for a "weigh in " post so here goes nothin'. My life has again become about staying healthy, I walk every day, sometimes twice per day, once in the afternoon with my daughter and then again after dinner with the whole family and the dedication to the process is starting to pay off. I watch the scale pretty much daily and lately all its got to say to me is good things and I am breaking back into lower numbers which goes without saying is awesome. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimPJdJIt8LZPif7nCh1h6YO7l8up02LvNECnSciC71w5Ju70OP-fUEiNy3TI8VF2x4OADxGWJXwWyYRlgJwWwBAwRBA3U1moYxhxaZZZzhQs6djyYyapu73bp4Isqa_geJaM6Bolvmn8BL/s1600/IMAG0577.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimPJdJIt8LZPif7nCh1h6YO7l8up02LvNECnSciC71w5Ju70OP-fUEiNy3TI8VF2x4OADxGWJXwWyYRlgJwWwBAwRBA3U1moYxhxaZZZzhQs6djyYyapu73bp4Isqa_geJaM6Bolvmn8BL/s400/IMAG0577.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This morning I stepped onto the scale and the number that flashed was 394.8 and that is 2.2 pounds less than last week and I'll take it. I walked 3.2 miles yesterday afternoon and then after dinner my daughter and I went on a ride together, we left early enough that I thought it wouldn't get dark out before we made it home but the fact is that its getting darker earlier so riding as the sun sets is how it goes. I decided to bring the Xcal out as its been a while that I rode that bike and I think for a while it will be my bike of choice for my evening rides, I forgot how fun that bike is to ride. </div>
<br />

I will continue to eat properly, walk my ass off and ride when I can until I get to my goal weight, After getting to my goal I will continue to do those same things and keep the weight off while expanding what I can do. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The only thing any of us can do is to keep pushing until our goals are reached because the other opinion is not that appealing and will surely lead to an early check out date and I just cannot let that be something that becomes a reality for me. </div>

After a week of walking and eating the correct foods my weight has come down again and I am feeling good again. I say feeling good "again" because no matter what I do when my body is not getting what it needs in the way of exercise and intake I never feel as good as when I am eating correctly and moving more. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'll keep this post simple and to the point as I want to get out for a walk before it rains, I am down to 397.0 pounds this morning, yesterday morning it was lower but I had a late dinner and barely any sleep last night and it shows on the scale this morning. 397.0 means that I am down 2.6 pounds from last Friday, I'll take it! If I can continue to drop an average of 2.5 pounds per week I will be 330 pounds by my goal date of April 1st and I hope I can get it off faster than that but I do think that 2.5 pounds per week is an achievable goal. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
Making my way back down to a healthier weight, Feeling good again and with some discipline and hard work I will get there again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's all I got for today as my walk calls. </div>

Walking, riding, eating right and staying hydrated, welcome to my life right now. This is the way it needs to be, I enjoy life like this better than any other way so that makes being a stress eater very frustrating. I see motivational sayings posted all over the internet and facebook etc and I think most of them are pretty silly mostly because I think every person struggling with weight loss though sharing THAT common denominator is in a different place. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSw6Zm8fcon9vWlDWgYY0Sl6Fnv2beh8eBn0JqFO882SdS2Q_KonyH0Bx9fDEeb6B9Mhy8f0x9j4dgdRlqeLS3r5eacA65yTMaaQdFwuSvRij4nKzLsSmkpcS13_z9M33AJSu2CsQQntbE/s1600/41067_145845448785565_4782048_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSw6Zm8fcon9vWlDWgYY0Sl6Fnv2beh8eBn0JqFO882SdS2Q_KonyH0Bx9fDEeb6B9Mhy8f0x9j4dgdRlqeLS3r5eacA65yTMaaQdFwuSvRij4nKzLsSmkpcS13_z9M33AJSu2CsQQntbE/s400/41067_145845448785565_4782048_n.jpg" width="378" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>5?? pounds. </i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I can state "<i>The decision is yours! You have the fork in your hand! just put it down!</i>" and some of the people will completely relate and say "<i>hell yeah!</i>" while others will want to say it and feel that way but truth be told they are not at that stage in their process. I find that weight loss and better health is less one dimensional than that and one day to the next can be completely different experiences not from different people but from the same person. When I am on point I feel unstoppable, I am a weight loss superstar dammit and this fat will not continue to loiter around on my front step and that's the end of it, but when a bad day peeks in well yeah. When I am off its a struggle, I mean every minute of the day, Staying true to the process is not easy in those moments and no matter how much I want or need to stay dead solid on track something inside is trying to get me to fail at that task.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know life, if you want to call it that at more than 500 pounds, I know life at 300 pounds and I know life at 400 knowing how the other two feel after being there so recently and frustration is dug in deep on all levels. When I was 500 pounds I thought there was no fixing it on my own, I felt like it was a hopeless venture and I would be stuck there forever so I tried. That adventure brought me all the way down to 300 pounds, I got invites from talk shows to appear on them and I even went to the Dr Oz show because of it, I have made friends because of the weight loss, I rode my bikes constantly became very active and felt amazing. Then less than a couple years ago I lost my mother, I was 330 pounds on that day and I know because I posted a blog post here and got the call immediately after I posted and days like that tend to stick out in a persons mind. Some other "<i>stresses</i>" dominated my life and I put on at least 100 pounds over the last year and a half or so, currently I am just under 400 pounds after losing at my best estimate about 30 pounds. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-CYFWhRRdrlVp4k4SywUJUpciImrH8YWWBzwMu_WpTehRE7sKplr22NcX4IfwBvK1yJjTex-gXaAlEZw8vqYv1RM2GauMUiIvHGD2N_b8qr6ZSkM4xalMSqckQwwUhvQwMDbISt1ju7y-/s1600/20576_100306223339488_4474934_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-CYFWhRRdrlVp4k4SywUJUpciImrH8YWWBzwMu_WpTehRE7sKplr22NcX4IfwBvK1yJjTex-gXaAlEZw8vqYv1RM2GauMUiIvHGD2N_b8qr6ZSkM4xalMSqckQwwUhvQwMDbISt1ju7y-/s400/20576_100306223339488_4474934_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>320 lbs</i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Losing weight and better health is not a one size fits all kind of thing, BUT in general if you eat less (and healthy foods) and move more the weight should come off even if its not as fast as you would like. I am extremely motivated and pig headed once I get something in my head and for the life of me I could not drop any weight in the last almost two years no matter how hard I tried or pretended to try or or or.... </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think that its awesome that blogger X, Y and Z are at that point in their process that they can tout how easy it is as long as you put the fork down or how YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF WHAT YOU EAT! rah rah sis boom bah! awesome... but.. Something I have learned is that no matter who we are, we all struggle with the same problem in very different ways and that is why there is no "<i>miracle pill</i>" that works or will ever work. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am at a point in my process where I can see things from so many angles all at the same time and I almost feel like this is what I needed on a personal level to get and keep the weight off permanently, you know, to see 500, 300 and then start coming back up again so that in a way its like that whole not missing something till its gone thing. I am just under 400 pounds, I need to get back down to a maximum of 300 pounds and I almost feel like I needed to taste that freedom so that I can appreciate it the way that I should have when I was there the first time around. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Walking with my children, riding my bike with my daughter, riding my bike alone on a trail covered in dead leaves on a cool Autumn day, appreciating everything that I can do effortlessly because I am not carrying the equivalent of another human being on my bones are just some of the things that I enjoy about not being super obese. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This post is purely written for me, I contemplated not posting it to the blog but I use the blog to reflect back at moments and how I felt at a given moment so it shall be posted. Take from it what you want to, take nothing at all if that works for you but remember we are all walking a road that is filled with obstacles, we all struggle and though the end results that we all seek may be the same, the road taken is rarely even close to the same. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Stay focused, Stay as positive as the moment permits and with a ton of hard work I believe that we can all meet at the end of that road and share our stories of how we got there with one another. </div>

A less profound but more factual post from your favorite fat man. <div style="text-align: justify;">
So a couple weeks ago I weighed in at 403.6 pounds on my scale that only goes up to 400 pounds so I questioned its accuracy from the start but at the same time seeing a number was good for the mind. After that day I didn't get another weight to show up so my questioning it was warranted but since I am a gotta see the numbers kind of fella my lovely wife went out and got us a new scale that goes to 450 pounds... eeeeeek! I never thought a scale that robust would be needed again but alas, here we are. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the beginning of the week I weighed 404.6 pounds and this morning I busted through that 400 pound barrier and weighed in at 399.6 pounds. I will give it another week before I celebrate getting out of the 400's but damn I gotta say its a weight lifted off of my shoulders and I mean quite literally along with the figurative part of that statement. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been walking daily 1.8 miles on my "<i>short walk</i>" and a more average 2.3 miles but at least twice per week I do my "<i>long walk</i>" which is 3.2 miles. My calorie intake is @ 1800 per day currently and will remain there until I stop dropping weight. Evening rides with my daughter have slowed down since she started school again but I am trying to get them going again before it gets too cold for her to ride. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am feeling like myself again, focused, on point, determined and disciplined with everything that I do. Food is once again merely fuel for my body instead of a "<i>treat</i>" or something to "<i>reward</i>" myself with and I am embarrassed along with aggravated at myself for allowing things not exactly in my control to beat me back into an unhealthy way of living. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am determined to get back down to my low weight and beyond..</div>
<br />
As Ever<br />

Feeling pretty amazing lately has got me thinking about how much I have missed out on because I let myself slip back into some old habits and is solidifying this decision to take control again. One of the best things about this is that I am back on the bicycles again, I have racked up more miles in this past month than the entire whole of the year to the point when I started riding again and I have to admit, it feels good. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
We got out for a ride with some friends on Sunday despite the horrific humidity that day we all had a blast! we rode we hiked then we rode and hiked some more, it was nothing intense, I mean we moved at the speed of a set of 8 year olds most of the time but it was an awesome day none the less. I took the K2 out, my daughter on her little pink Trek and we headed out with our riding partners for some pedal time. My daughter was sort of training the other girl because she is new to two wheels and my daughter has been learning the "<i>rules of the road</i>" for the past month or so. She understands no darting into the road, stay to the right, "<i>on your left</i>" when passing someone, announcing your presence to others on the trails with a foot drag or a bell as to not startle them into running into her etc etc and her friend well.. </div>

After the first hour or so both of the girls were staying where they needed to be but my daughters friend still needed to be guided so her father and I gave verbal ques while my daughter kept on being an example. This last month or so of me being back where I need to be with diet and exercise has been petty awesome, I am feeling good again and my weight is dropping. I am setting some goals for myself with where I want to be and I am still growing the beard until I hit 334 pounds again which.. I am happy that colder weather is coming for that one. To recap on the beard thing, I told my wife that I was not shaving my beard until I got back down to where I was in June of 2011, That was 334 pounds so until I get there I have this beard that seems to catch everything that comes close to my face. I would like to be 350 pounds by Christmas but if I am not there yet oh well and I will continue on, as far as the goal setting I am keeping them light even though there are a few but I am keeping them light because something that I learned is that as long as the quality of life is there the rest will fall into place and thats what its all about for me at this point. </div>

I have been doing this with the Bodymedia arm band for 22 days now, I have been sticking to walking and eating right for about a week past that and though I know that I am doing everything right I had no gauge because my scale checks out at 400 pounds. Frustrating much? damn right it is, working my ass off but not knowing where the progress or lack of progress is is a little annoying. The 1980 flick Flash Gordon (one of my favorite flicks) came to mind, there is a line in that movie where he says that hes flying blind on a rocket cycle when talking to Prince Vultan and its how I've felt. </div>

<br />
<br />
Until this morning...<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hopped onto the scale this morning and the little spinning circles were going to stop on "E" again so I barely looked at down but when it stopped t was not an E, no it was not, not today it was a 403.6. So I got on again and waddaya know, 403.6 again and with that I have something to go off to measure progress without looking into the mirror and thinking "I look a little less puffy" so I am pleased with this event this morning. I am taken back to a post from when I started dropping weight in the beginning of 2008 and its funny how clear I remember writing that post. I did not have a scale back then and when I finally got one that would hold me I was 511 pounds, I remember being happy that I was 511 pounds and I mentioned in the post how excited I was and its again how I feel this morning. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am very much addicted to checking my weight when I am on, Hey! I like to know my progress what can I say? so knowing that I am today weighing in at 403.6 pounds I have a start point, a line in the sand if you will and its time to start crushing it again... hey hey no fat jokes! I crush lots of things but this weight is coming down and the plan is to get it back down to 300 then reevaluate from there. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I will continue to do what I am doing because its obviously working, I am back on the scale, I feel better than I have in a year and thats enough. I am doing my part now my body needs to keep on letting go of the weight and we will get back to where we need to be and I can get on with not being as giant as I am/was again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I will go on my walk, today I will go on my evening bike ride with my daughter and today I will eat within my calorie limits, see ya back at 300 pounds!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's all I got for today</div>

Every painful step I take up this fucking hill, every rotation of the pedals where my legs beg for mercy, every single drop of sweat that beads on my head and runs into my eyes, I have earned, it is my debt to pay. I have been sentenced to this, it is mine, I own it and I need to make good on all of the late night deals that I made, all of the second plates, the pain now is the price for those things and I accept that as my sentence so my body will have to enjoy the pain because its not going to stop. <br /><br />Now get out of my way before someone gets hurt, the brakes are gone, there is no stopping this train. </div>

Its funny how I can be doing so well as far as eating within my allotted calories and going for walks/bike rides daily and feel like I am treading water because I don't know my current weight. It doesn't make any sense that we put so much on that number but we do and until I catch up to where my scale is I am going to have to deal with it, get over it and just keep on pushing through. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking of pushing through, yesterday on my daily walk about .80 miles in it started to rain, I gave my daughter the option to turn around and try and beat ay hard rain back home or finish the walk and deal with anything that came.. we turned around. So my walk was cut short but thats fine, I did enjoy walking through the rain on the way home while my daughter dodged between trees on her bike in an attempt to stay dry. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other than the mental block that is there because of the not knowing my weight I am still on track and am looking to get back down to where I was, I wish I could put a time line on it for myself to gauge a somewhat educated guess as to when I will reach it but since I can't weigh myself right now, it is what it is and plugging along is the plan. Today its once again raining so we'll see what happens as far as my walk goes, my feet have stopped hurting from the walks, my ass is doing ok on the bike and I am tweaking my intake so that its more balanced, we seem to be on a roll. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Until next time, That's all I got...</div>

This weekend went well where my calories and exercise are the subject, Saturday was an awesome day all around that ended with a bike ride with my eldest daughter and Sunday ended with fishing and a walk in a park that's local to us. I am finding keeping myself on task lately easier than its been in a good long while, I am again eating for fuel instead of recreation and that's huge! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Saturday I dodged pizza, I passed on cup cakes, said nah none for me to cookies. decided against ice cream and honestly besides the pizza all of that was pretty easy. My calories are where they should be and I have walked almost every day for the last 3 weeks, I am back on my bike in the order of after dinner rides with my daughter and I setup a longer ride with a friend and his kid for this coming weekend, I am sure I will be damning the cold weather soon enough as I pull my bike trainer out again.... I hope. </div>

<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">A shot of my bike by the water from a couple nights ago.</span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I try to snap a few pics when we stop but honestly I am enjoying the rides again so my daughter is actually asking me to snap pics of "<i>our rides</i>" meaning the bikes so I do have a few. I will try and do my part and keep this trend going... wait.. scratch that, I will do my part to keep things going in this directions because in the words of Yoda "<i>Do or do not, there is no try</i>" so we'll go with that. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihTl7y6uaVF0ZkfF5MGXq8i6fc7dc_oh8jeMGJIuRIZgAtYU7Jep17pX0-VxycmTSRELeQdylqyq1SMJwo3K0Jp7HX8ES7XYsTEarAe7hp0eEK-eTx8j0yY3ujRzHC8xj3VQTBSL2Owp8B/s1600/IMAG0337.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihTl7y6uaVF0ZkfF5MGXq8i6fc7dc_oh8jeMGJIuRIZgAtYU7Jep17pX0-VxycmTSRELeQdylqyq1SMJwo3K0Jp7HX8ES7XYsTEarAe7hp0eEK-eTx8j0yY3ujRzHC8xj3VQTBSL2Owp8B/s400/IMAG0337.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So all in all I seem to be on a decent little run here, I feel better than I have in a while and its getting easier to go for my walks with the kids. I still don't know my exact weight as my scale is limited but I can't bee too much more than its limit at this point so soon I will have a weight to post on here and start my progress downward again with my motorcycle comparison weight images. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Until the next episode of as the fat guy turns... tune in to see bike rides, walks and fishing while a fat dude gets smaller... again....</div>

Forward is the direction we go...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I walked 3 miles yesterday afternoon while my daughter rode along with me on her bicycle, my calories were @1862 total and 1 gallon of green tea and more than a gallon of H2O went down the hatch. I am feeling pretty good the last couple weeks and while walking is not my favorite form of activity I am enjoying the time with the little one. Last night around 7:30 I heard "<i>Dad, can we go for a ride on our bikes</i>" how could I resist that? since I have not bee riding my bike was not set up with lights and being so close to sunset I had to have them so we took a few minutes to get out and by the time we were riding it was getting dark outside. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The ride was short (for me) but that's what I need right now until I get my legs back a bit and we did a few miles just around the neighborhood, it was fun. I walked in the door to a counter top full of banana muffins and zucchini bread that wify had been making and had a banana muffin to finish off my calories for the night. Over all I would say things are on track and I am getting some good time in with the kiddos as well as getting my arse back out there and putting some miles behind me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Aiming to be back at 305 pounds but more importantly I am aiming to just get back to feeling healthy. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thats all I got for today. </div>

We have a week behind us, but its not just a week its a successful week where my health is concerned. I stuck to my calories all week and throughout the weekend and I am moving more again, I am going to admit something because my blog has always been about accountability. I have a scale, it weighs up to 400 pounds, when I bought this scale I had the option to buy one that went to 450 pounds but in my wildest dreams I never thought I would see even 350 pounds never mind 400 and I find myself unable to weigh myself at home currently. Yep, I am more than 400 pounds currently and not very happy about it so I am indeed weighing myself every couple days waiting for that scale to pop off a number for me to go off of but for now I am as they say flying blind. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am not much more than 400 but I am above because my scale gives me a "E" I will continue to do what I am doing, logging my food, walking daily and getting my fluids in and sooner than later I am guessing that scale will give me a number. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHa8PHChJcRbNu-YvhuoycJdheCeXqXUk5Fuu426gyX98yuuIchGlniBim6IFiKXsPnyCYh1hIbcu48n4C52DqDfsS_Ek-d88tVRyUoTM9MEKYrfrHAjZ_dDf-Ee4aHseD-OI5ywR5mbIp/s1600/IMAG0290.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHa8PHChJcRbNu-YvhuoycJdheCeXqXUk5Fuu426gyX98yuuIchGlniBim6IFiKXsPnyCYh1hIbcu48n4C52DqDfsS_Ek-d88tVRyUoTM9MEKYrfrHAjZ_dDf-Ee4aHseD-OI5ywR5mbIp/s400/IMAG0290.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>A shot of the moon over the lake I was fishing Saturday.</i></span> </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
From Friday to Sunday I stayed active running errands and fishing, I skipped going out to a Polynesian place on Saturday night with my father in law mostly because looking at their menu it was a lot of fried foods and "Chinese" style dishes read: like Chinese fast food and since I have done so well I wanted it to remain that way. I have a walk planned for today some time and maybe some fishing so staying active is definitely on my agenda and I am bringing it back to basics with the walking because it works! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
when I began down this road to a healthier life I walked, I walked some more and then I walked some more, then it wasn't because I thought it to be an awesome weight loss tool (I sort of did) but it was because it was what I could muster being 500 plus pounds. This time around its a combination of the two, walking is something that I can do with my daughter and we both enjoy it, walking allows me to basically have an hour long conversation with her while we do something physical together and well to be honest its at my current pay grade so to speak. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Walking, counting calories, staying focused on the task at hand is my job right now, not because I want to do it, not because I should do it but because I need to do it.... so I will. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
the cycling like a madman will come back in due time... until then its just me and my walking with some light biking tossed in. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Until next time.</div>
<br />
As Ever<br />
