Day 58

A new day, I cannot say that I am not still irritated at the weight loss, or lack there of, but I am not annoyed any more. I have to keep in mind that there is not a set amount of weight that will come off within any given week and that I am going to have slower weeks. oh well it is what it is. I believe as long as I keep my intake moderate and my exercise daily that my body will have no choice but to submit to my new ways, because I am not going back to the old way. if it comes off 1lb at a time I am going to have to be ok with it because thats just how it works sometimes. I went to bed at 10:30pm last night and slept through to 6:55am and thats the plan for tonight as well. my routine will remain unchanged for now, I want to see if this lull continues into next week or if its just that, a lull. being negative will do nothing for me. dealing with the problem and trying to figure it out on the other hand will likely do wonders. So, with that said, I am back on track and no more negativity from me, at least I can try.

Intake wise the day went ok, I am still under the 1500 mark, I think I need to tart eating a larger breakfast and or lunch so that I don't end up with an excess amount of calorie to make up at the end of the day. I shall attempt that from now on. I am getting ready to hop on the bike so I will keep this post relatively short, so onto the menu.

02/27/2008

Breakfast
8:30 AM
1 banana 105
1 tbsp peanut butter 100

10:45 AM
1 pear 120

Lunch
3:00 PM
1 progresso lite soup 120
1/2 cup cooked white rice 100

Dinner
6:00 PM
3.5oz pork chop 210
3/4 cup white rice 150
1 cup fresh frozen green beans 40
1 pat butter 35
1 tbsp ketchup 20

7:00 PM
1 zone perfect bar 210

Grand total of 1210 calories for the day, which is still low, as I said, I am going to try a larger breakfast to see if I can offset that. today I leave you with another quote.

"Avoid destructive thinking. Improper negative thoughts sink people. A ship can sail around the world many, many times, but just let enough water get into the ship and it will sink. Just so with the human mind. Let enough negative thoughts or improper thoughts get into the human mind and the person sinks just like a ship."-Alfred A Montapert -

With that I thank you for reading.

  3. Not when I look at it, it just says Comment deleted.

Anyways- for those we like to confuse, I wrote an inappropriate comment for public eyes, and my hubby decided to delete it. :)

So here's what I really meant:

Our house will be thankful of all your positive thoughts. I love you and stand behind you during all of your ups and downs. I'm glad you have gotten through your slump and moved on. I'm very proud of you. You are my hero.

  4. I can only imagine what the deleted comment must have said...

Glad you've decided not to let that little lull keep you down this week!

  5. I just wanted to suggest you might be eating too few calories and your body may conserving. You might want to talk to a nitritioinist or tinker a little bit to see if you can try raising your calorie intake to make sure you're getting enough nutrition. I know 1200 calories is a recommended calorie level for a smallish woman to lose two pounds a week. As you're a very tall guy and you're being very active you may very well be slipping into starvation mode which would make your body conserve if it could and also make it easier to rebound or fall off the wagon. I have had this difficulty myself. Congratulations on your progress and here's to more!

  6. I'm going to say the same as the first anon poster. Large initial weight losses are wonderful, and help motivate us. However, if you're consistently losing more than say 1% of your body weight you may be eating too little for your bodyweight.

Your body may fight back and stop the weight loss (since it will think you are starving). Since we're all amateurs here, have you considered getting a suggestion from a doctor or nutritionist?

The loss so far is wonderful (all women envy men's ability to lose weight), but don't worry about a slow down every now and then.

  7. Thanks for the comments guys and Robyn it wasn't as tasty as you might think lol,and for the anonymous twins :) Hey there! thanks for the comments and for reading the blog, I have not seen a nutritionist yet, I do thin its a good Idea, I just haven't done it yet, I do know that 1500 is low for my size and i did think this was going to happen, was just hoping for it to happen later than this ;)I am still debating seeing a nutritionist/doc...I just don't like docs! lol

Thanks again for the comments, for the anon twins, I am curious where did you find my blog?

  8. Sorry, I was the second anon poster. I thought I was logged in. I'm a 3FC poster (RealCdn).

I hate doctors myself. The first time I started losing weight I was eating maybe 1500 cals. I really didn't keep track at the start. I went down about 120/130 pounds in about 12 months. I started doing a lot of exercise (60 mins minimum real high heart rate stuff), and I had a job that I was on my feet all day.

I actually stopped losing weight when I started to exercise (although I did lose a few inches). I dropped the calories to 1200 and kept going. I ended up in the hospital with fluid around my one lung. The doctor said I was eating too little, sleeping too little, and exercising too much. He said something had to give. In the end I gave too much and I'm back losing some (although thankfully not all) of it.

This time I'm eating between 1900 and 2000 cals a day, doing at least 60 mins of cardio daily (avg) and 90 mins of other exercises (weights usually) a week. I'm still averaging over 2 pounds a week. And I may still not be eating enough.

It's just that when you start too low, there's nowhere to go. I'd suggest at a minimum - do NOT drop your calories. If nothing else, just keep where you are. Your body may simply be adjusting. I had a two week period where I just hovered around the same weight. It ended about two weeks ago and I'm down another 6 pounds. I was going to do something, but in the end I actually added perhaps 100 cals a day.

  10. Hey Tony- I had a day today way under calories and I ate a lot of stuff- I think we need to tweak ourselves earlier in the day. I'm not going to load up at night anymore. Glad to hear you are feeling a little better-
I know what you mean, about solving problems. I hate the unknown, and will search for answers. You have a strong and supportive network going, home and on the blog. Newcomers and everything! COOL!!!!
Good luck tomorrow on your weigh in. I dont think my numbers moved- not to worry. Take care and thanks for your comments today. Very kind!
