Like I said I have been busy here with some things I needed to get done. but the loss continues in a downward direction so I am happy with that, I did not get any what I would call exercise over the weekend besides some random push ups here and there. things are over all going well for me with the weight loss. I am very happy with my results thus far. My wife showed me a picture of myself from August of last year and man! talk about a difference, I am wearing a shirt in the pic that fits me way too big right now and I can honestly say when I look at that pic I am happy that I chose to take on this challenge of dropping the excess weight. maybe when I lose a bit more weight I will be brave enough to post the picture up. not a whole lot of people that are not close friends or family have seen the old pics of me and I look forward to reaching goal and making a side by side of them with the old pics.
I think I am settling into a rhythm and feel like this is how I must live to keep on living, its not a task to eat like this and its not a task to get in the exercise. its becoming a way of life and I believe that is why its successful for me at this point. I do not crave sweets, I do not crave fatty foods and actually feel a little guilty if I slip up, saying guilt is not really how I feel maybe more of an awareness I don't know exactly how to say it other than that. I know whats bad for me and whats good for me and I know how to get it into my body in moderation. I can say with 100% certainty that where my food intake and exercise concerned that I am a different person that I was just 3 months ago.
When I first started with this change I thought to myself "How am I going to stick to this" and now I think to myself "Why did this take so long". over all I am satisfied with my results and know that I am healthier for what I have done. and with that here is the Menu for Sunday.

As Ever
Me.
it is really cool that this has become so natural for you. I am happy for you kiddos that -barring any accidents-- you will be there for a much longer time for them. PLUS you are setting a great example for them to live by.
ReplyDeleteI know this whole online support is new to me and you and Robyn and Sandy but it really helps to hear how you are doing and to not forget that there is a goal and to be accountable for our choices and actions! The success of one helps the outcome of us all!!! so keep on succeeding - it gives me that push to exercise most days!
Enjoying those turkey sandwiches, eh?? Haha...my favorite....especially knowing what I know now about the pb&j thing....
ReplyDeleteIt is neat to think about how this hasn't been THAT hard! I mean, yeah....sometimes it's hard to turn down the junk food that seems to always be available....and it seems hard to resist ordering a pizza with extra cheese and extra grease....but overall, it has not been that big of a deal to learn to eat healthier, and to eat less. I've been waiting for my sister to "catch on" to this...and just yesterday she told me that if I'd make her up a menu to show her that she doesn't have to starve herself, and prove that she can eat good stuff, and not just eat raw brocolli and tofu all day like I'm sure she imagines....that she may try to do it, too. I can't see her giving up cookies and donuts though, so I don't know how that would work out. But, I'm excited to show her that I've not been eating "health foods" to lose weight. In fact, I've been having everything I like....just less of it sometimes, and lower-calorie versions of most stuff (like light sour cream, or light pringles). You can really save a lot of calories by buying stuff with less of them! I'm so excited to have found 40 calorie-per-slice bread that is good! I don't know if I could have stayed under 1000 without it!
Anyway, long comment, as always. You're still doing great, and I'm glad that you still seem to be "in it" for the long haul!!
Hey! Thanks for the comments. They mean a lot. I will continue to blog, as you guys are now a daily part of my life, in a sort of "neat" way. So thank you.
ReplyDeleteKeep on your path. I am still making the right choices, but not counting anything right now. I was down almost a pound this morning. The stress alone with the #'s could have been my stumbling block. Who knows?? I have an appt on Thurs. w/ my "natural" doctor, as I dont want to be Rx'd, so I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again for your support. Really!
Just letting you know that I found your blog from a post at 3fc and have read all the way back to the beginning. You are doing a really great job. Sticking w/your plan, eating several times a day, getting in some exercise. I'm so happy for you, and your wifey too. I hope it's going good for her as well. Keep up the great work, and I'll be here reading right along cheering for you.
