I have found some sites/books that have it slightly lower but 55 per cooked oz is what I use, as far as what kind of chicken I use, its fresh boneless skinless chicken breast from the meat section in the grocery store, I season it and roast/grill it myself. it only takes 45 mins to roast in the oven and I usually have a few pieces left over for lunch or dinner the next day.

Get that food scale! it makes all the difference in the world, we weigh almost everything we eat, we use measuring spoons, cups and the scale. hope that answered some of your questions and thanks for the comments!

As Ever
MeZeusmeatballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03841730555706808620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3823908020431638884.post-26824547002314243502008-01-16T09:25:00.000-05:002008-01-16T09:25:00.000-05:00That's awesome that your son likes the menu. My k...That's awesome that your son likes the menu. My kids have enjoyed everything we've had, too. It's a great habit to get them into. At the rate we WERE going before all of this began two weeks ago, my 8 year old daughter never had a chance. She had already started developing some very bad eating habits, thanks to me mostly. I'm going to try to fix that, though - one day at a time.
I'm wondering what kind of roasted chicken you had at lunch? I have gotten so many different numbers, when trying to research how many calories is in a chicken breast. For instance, I have a bag of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts. On the bag, it says that serving size is "1 piece" (which is so silly, since some pieces are huge, while other pieces are very small - this is when my digital food scale that I STILL haven't ordered will come in handy) and the calories per serving is 230 calories! I never knew chicken would have so many calories - all by itself! Imagine how much a piece of fried chicken must have!! On some of the paperwork I got from my doctor, it says to have 2 meats at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 1 meat is only 1 oz.!! So, 2 meats is 2 oz.! That's barely anything, right?! Ugh, I need that food scale. Okay, enough from me. Have a great day! You're still doing really great!Aunt Melvie Brownies and Morehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01507070234514774082noreply@blogger.com
